Dream Project Auditions

Auditions will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at 2:30 pm. Check in is at 2:00 pm at Elite Dance Academy in Broomfield. Dance resume and head shots are required. Auditions are rigorous, but do not require preparation outside of regular dance training. DREAM PROJECT only rehearses on Sundays - which fits the very busy schedules of these young women who have jobs, families and commitments that make them the amazing people they are.

Denver Dance Festival 2011

The DDF is owned / produced by Sarah Schachterle and Ken Jimenez. They are only hosting professional groups this year and everyone had to submit a video audition. They received roughly 60 entries and have chosen 10 groups.

This year Dream Project, the RockStarz, and the Damsels all made it in.
Dream project hosts a couple of former Nuggets Dancers, RockStarz is all former pro-sports dancers including Broncos and Nuggets, and Damsels has a few of both as well.

Dream Project presents Glimpse

The first show of the 2010/2011 season, GLIMPSE, will be on Friday, January 21, 2011 at the Lakewood Cultural Center at 470 Sout Allison Parkway. Show times will be at 6:30 pm and 9:00 pm. Tickets are currently on sale online at the Lakewood Cultural Center.

Dance for the Cure

Hard Rock Cafe Denver invites guests to rock out in support of breast cancer awareness and research! On Saturday, October 23rd, 2010, Hard Rock Cafe Denver will host an exclusive performance by the dance team RockStarz as part of Hard Rocks 2010 PINKTOBER initiative. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Denver Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, part of the national grassroots network of breast cancer survivors and activists working together to save lives, empower people, ensure quality care for all and energize science to find the cures.

Founded by Kristin Engler Brooks in 2007, the Rocky Mountain RockStarz is an elite group of former professional cheerleaders and dancers with credentials including the Los Angeles Lakers, St. Louis Rams, Denver Nuggets, Washington Wizards, Kansas City Chiefs and many other teams. RockStarz is a performance group that maintains their remarkable dance style through exclusive performances. As professional dancers, RockStarz share their talent through youth dance clinics, seminars, performing and other community service. Where are They Now - Briget Steckler

Briget grew up in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado. She trained at Starstruck Dance Academy for 18 years, specializing in jazz, ballet, lyrical and hip hop. She moved to Los Angeles after graduating high school and trained at Edge Performing Arts, in Hollywood, California. Briget then decided that she wanted to further her education, so she moved home to Denver and attended The University of Denver, graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Finance.

With her passion for dance still burning inside she auditioned and went on to be a Denver Broncos Cheerleaders for the next six years, including two years as a team captain. A few of Briget’s most treasured experiences include performing at the American Bowl in Australia, the New Year’s Day celebration in Hong Kong, the Armed Forces Entertainment in Guantanamo Bay and being selected to represent the Denver Broncos at the Pro Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii.

When Briget was introduced to the Pure Barre Technique, she knew that this was what she had always hoped for! Pure Barre was the perfect fix for her appetite of fitness and dancing! Briget feels so blessed to be part of such an amazing team of women and is thrilled at the opportunity to share the Pure Barre Technique and "experience" with other women!



What is the Pure Barre technique?

Pure Barre is a total body workout that lifts your seat, tones your thighs and burns fat in record-breaking time. Utilizing the ballet barre to perform small isometric movements set to fantastic music, Pure Barre is the fastest, most effective, yet safest way to change your body. Students see results in just 10 classes.



Pure Barre is intelligent exercise. The technique protects your joints as it does not involve any bouncing or jumping. Each strength section of the workout is followed by a stretching section in order to create long, lean muscle without bulk. The workout launches a full blown attack on the areas of the body all women struggle with: abs, hips, seat and arms. It defies gravity by tapering everything in and lifting it up.



The workout requires such focus that you block "life" out for the hour allowing you to obtain the mental benefits achieved in yoga or meditation. A transformed body and a clear head in just one hour- it doesn't get much better than this.

Going Pro Entertainment

Going Pro Entertainment is the premier resource for professional cheerleading and dance services. They are former pro dancers from across the United States, representing all sports leagues. Their mission is to provide consulting and business services to further the success of future, current and former professional cheerleaders, dancers and teams.

Lucid...A Dream Project

A Dream Project...

DREAM PROJECT is a performing team for women 18 years and older in the Denver area. DREAM PROJECT producer Lisa Pevateaux says, "I came up with DREAM PROJECT as a result of me missing the old Dance West DIVAS that I used to direct in Boulder. I feel there are very few opportunities for dancers over the age of 18 in Colorado with the exception of professional teams such as the Denver Broncos Cheerleaders, Denver Nuggets Dancers and professional theater. I have always found it sad that women stop dancing way before their time, and in many cases prior to reaching their highest levels of the sport/art. Because many dancers aren't comfortable taking classes in the "studio" environment once they graduate high school, they stop dancing all together and this is where DREAM PROJECT comes in."

DREAM PROJECT got its name for three reasons.

1. To fulfill the dreams of dancers not ready to retire,
2. To complete the dreams of choreographers unable to find other opportunities to express themselves and their talent,
3. And to help complete the dreams of the charities we are able to contribute to.

Their first show LUCID will be on October 23rd at 6:30 and 9pm at the Lakewood Cultural Center at 470 S. Allison Pkwy. A LUCID dream can be described as a dream in which the sleeper is aware the she is dreaming. When she is lucid, she can actively participate in, and often manipulate, the imaginary experiences in the dream environment. LUCID dreams can be extremely real and vivid depending on a person's level of self-awareness. Our dreams (and pieces in this show) encompass many emotions; love, heartbreak, fear, emptiness, horror, humor, and more. We invite you to join us and be a part of the VERY FIRST DREAM PROJECT.
